Jubo League central member Helal Akbar Chowdhury on Wednesday was arrested along with four associates for Monday’s gunfight in Chittagong between Jubo League and BCL activists, over the railway tender that left two dead.
A combined force of Chittagong and Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested them from a Gulshan house. “They were being taken to the port city with strong police escort,” said a media report.
Fifty-two suspects, including Jubo League and BCL leaders and activists, were already held Tuesday for double murder and tender hooliganism.
Later, 44 were placed on one-day remand.
