Shafi to teach anti-Islamic forces a lesson

Update : 26 Jun 2013, 04:22 AM

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Chief Shah Ahmed Shafi Tuesday said anti-Islamic forces would be taught a lesson if they reared their heads in any part of the country.

“Persecution, filing of cases, issue of threats and conspiracy will not be able to discourage us from our undertaking to save Islam,” he added.

The leader was addressing a meeting in the port city of Chittagong, hosted by the city, district (north) and district (south) units of the organisation.

Efforts are on to turn the Chittagong Hill Tracts into a Christian state, he said, adding that religious Muslims have to foil this conspiracy.

“Hefazat activists are united even after baseless propaganda, filing of numerous cases and other sorts of persecution,” he said.

The religious leader vowed that Hefazat men won’t tolerate any anti-Islamic activities in the country and demanded release of all detained activists.
