A Chittagong Court on Tuesday placed 44 leaders and activists of Jubo League and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), both associate bodies of the ruling party, on a day’s remand for their alleged involvement with Monday’s twin murders over a railway tender bid.
Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Lutful Majid came up with the order in response to a seven-day remand plea filed by police.
Earlier in the day, 127 leaders and activists of the assiciate bodies of ruling party were sued over the gunfight issue while police arrested some 52.
