Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed annoyance on Friday as the party leaders and workers did not wear masks during a meeting of the ruling Awami League on Friday.
"I have noticed that many of you do not have a mask on. What does it mean to put yourself in such a predicament?” asked the prime minister while speaking at an event held in Tungipara virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban, reports Bangla Tribune.
“Whether you attend a meeting or talk or chant a slogan, follow the heath rules too. It’ll be good for you and everyone else,” she added.
The discussion was organized on the occasion of the 102nd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
When she was informed that some of them had the masks in their pockets, the premier said: "You should not keep them in your pockets, you have to wear them. Protect yourself.”
Hasina further added that the Covid-19 outbreak had not completely diminished.
“We took actions efficiently. We have opened everything…schools have reopened. You have to ensure your own protection now. Everyone should remember this.
"We have vaccinated around 73% of the population. In addition, the health protocols must be complied with,” said the prime minister.
