The newly elected mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Ariful Haque Chowdhury has visited the former mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran's house at 12pm Sunday.
At the first visit after Saturday’s city poll, Arif sought all kinds of help from the preceding mayor to run the city administration in the coming days.
Kamran cordially assured Arif of providing any sort of help in this regard.
A press conference is also underway to brief more on the meeting of the former mayor and the incumbent, reports our reporter.
In Saturday’s race for the mayor of Sylhet city, BNP-backed candidate Ariful Haque Chowdhury defeated Awami league-backed Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran with a margin of around 35 thousand votes.
