Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday urged the party leaders and workers to take preparation for the next general elections, saying that no political rival would be able to prevent Awami League's victory if its leaders and workers remain united.
"Take preparation for the next general elections from now on. No one would be able to defeat Awami League if it does not defeat itself," he said virtually at the Triennial Conference of AL's Pabna district unit, from his capital residence.
"We have to remain united. AL's unity is AL's main strength," said Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister.
He said conspiracies are going on both at home and abroad against the development activities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and urged AL leaders and workers to remain alert and united against all conspiracies.
"All party leaders and workers will have to go ahead with a new challenge to face the next elections. We have to work together to modernize and strengthen the party," he added.
He laid emphasis on making leaders from the party's devoted leaders and workers instead of opportunity-seekers, saying that if devoted leaders and workers are not evaluated properly, the party becomes weak.
