Finance Minister AMA Muhith cast his vote for Sylhet City Corporation election at Durgakumar Pathshala centre at 11:30am.
The minister came to the polling centre on rickshaw and went home on the same vehicle.
Rejecting the allegation against him about provoking voters, he said: “All are rubbish and bogus.”
While talking to journalists, he disclosed the names of the candidates he voted. He voted for mayor candidate Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran, councilor candidate Soyful Amin Baker and reserved seat candidate Diba Rani Dey Babli.
Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the BNP-led 18-party-supported mayoral candidate in Sylhet City Corporation, cast his vote at Rainagar Primary School polling centre at 8:30am.
The outgoing mayor and ruling Awami League-backed candidate Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran cast his vote at Sylhet Government Pilot High School polling centre at around 9am.
