The BNP was scheduled to hold two-hour sit-ins at thana and upazila levels of all metropolitan cities, including Dhaka, on Saturday afternoon.
Party leaders and activists will protest soaring prices and "corruption" of the Awami League government, and press home their 10-point demand for the restoration of democracy.
The BNP said the program would be held simultaneously in 128 thanas of 13 cities, including Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Sylhet, and at a total of 650 spots across all upazilas of the country.
Dhaka North and South BNP were scheduled to hold sit-ins in 50 thanas.
