Jamaat-e-Islami called a nine-hour hartal in Cox’s Bazarfor Sunday protesting the arrest of its upazila Ameer Shafiqul Haque Jihadi and other leaders.
Cox’s Bazar district Jamaat Secretary G M Rahimullah told banglanews, “The party will observe the shutdown from 5am to 2pm demanding immediate release of its leaders.”
He said their leaders are being arrested without any case. Police held Cox’s Bazar Sadar Jamaat Ameer and its municipal unit leader Ayat Ullah on Friday, reports banglanews.
