Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has proved that they are the agents of Pakistan.
“The day before yesterday he said that they were in a good position during the Pakistani regime. In this statement he proved that he and his party are the agents of Pakistan,” Hasan, also Awami League joint secretary general, said.
Dr Hasan said these while addressing the triennial conference of Rangunia Upazila Krishok League, held at Rangunia Municipal Auditorium on Saturday evening.
The information minister said the farmers of the country are doing well, the people of the country are also doing well, the country is moving forward but a few people are upset because of this advancement.
“The whole world is praising Bangladesh today. Even Pakistan is appreciating it. But a few people of the country are upset about it. The leader of that upset party is BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir,” he added.
Dr Hasan said Imran Khan, former prime minister of Pakistan, has praised Bangladesh many times.
“Present Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is also praising Bangladesh and its Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina saying that Bangladesh has left us behind. There was a storm of praise for Sheikh Hasina in a discussion on Pakistani television,” he added.
Hasan said Mirza Fakhrul and their party leaders actually hold Pakistan in their hearts as they are the agents of Pakistan in Bangladesh.
“The country must be protected from the agents of Pakistan. If they get another chance, they will try to make the country Pakistan again. So, we have to protect our country from them. Pakistani agents have no place in Bangladesh,” Hasan said.
The information and broadcasting minister said farmers are getting their fair price now and the government is subsidizing the agricultural sector.
“Our government subsidizes agriculture in thousands of crores taka every fiscal year. However, the World Bank has advised the IMF to withdraw agricultural subsidies. But Sheikh Hasina is thinking about farmers and she is giving thousands of crores taka of subsidies to agriculture,” the minister added.
He said that is why despite being a small country, Bangladesh is sufficient in food crop production now.
“We have exported more than $2 billion worth of agricultural products in the last financial year. Now our goal is to export agricultural products along with garments and other products,” the information minister added.
