A local Awami League leader was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Uttar Fashion village in between Lalmohan and Charfashion upazila on Thursday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid Mia, former president of No 1 ward Ramganj union Awami League unit in Lalmohan upazila.
Locals said a group of miscreants stabbed Abdur Rashid indiscriminately while he was returning home after offering Esha prayers at a mosque at 8pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Lalmohan police station officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident.
The motive behind the killing could not be known.
