The Narayanganj City Corporation mayor also advisor of Santrash Nirmul Towki Mancha Dr Selina Hayat Ivy yesterday expressed her deep wish to establish a “Godfather Free” Narayanganj within next six months.
Addressing a hunger strike program at Chashara Shaheed Minar premises, she made the disclosure.
After breaking the hunger strike programme of the leaders and activists of Santrash Nirmul Towki Mancha, the mayor addressed the gathering.
Ivy said this six months deadline has been given, so that, the criminals could repent, otherwise the authority would go for tougher movements with all walks of people against the godfathers, who unabatedly committing violence, killing and extortion in the city.
Santrash Nirmul Towki mancha is a civic platform, which was formed on March 17 to press the law agency to nab and produce the killer of Towki before the court.
Tanvir Mohammad Towki, 17, a meritorious student of A-level in the town gone missing on March 6, and police recovered his dead body on March 8. Towki’s father filed a murder case with the Narayanganj sadar model police station against unknown assailants.
