Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has likened Transparency International Bangladesh to BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed, in that they both “issue statements without verifying incidents”.
The minister made the remark while replying to a reporter’s question at Rangpur Circuit House on Tuesday.
“Lately TIB has been issuing statements on everything. There was an incident involving a TTE at midnight and TIB issued a statement in the morning without verifying anything. I do not see any difference between TIB and Rizvi Ahmed,” he said.
“Just as he (Rizvi) keeps a statement prepared even before an incident unfolds, TIB also issues statements before anything happens,” added Hasan.
