State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Saturday alleged that popular leader Ahsanullah Master MP was assassinated on the orders of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Zia.
He made the claim at a discussion and prayer meeting on the occasion of the 18th death anniversary of Shaheed Ahsanullah Master in Gazipur.
Khalid Mahmud said that the dream of Ahsanullah Master was to establish the rights of the working class.
“Today, his dream has been established in the land of Bengal. Bangabandhu's blood was not wasted. Bangabandhu's murder trial was successful, but the killers have not been eliminated yet. The criminals need to be eradicated in order to prevent the killings,” he added.

Noting that the BNP could not be happy with the development of the country, Khalid Mahmud said they were still involved in various conspiracies.
He claimed that, as the people of the country hate the politics of BNP, they will not be able to establish their presence here.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel presided over the function while other Awami League leaders joined it.
