A Dhaka court on Thursday sent BNP’s Joint Secretary General Barkatullah Bulu to jail rejecting police’s plea for a seven-day remand against the BNP leader.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman passed the order when police produced Bulu before the court in connection with the violence staged at city’s Nayapaltan on March 11, 2013.
The court also rejected a plea for bail filed by the defence lawyer Sanaullah Mollah.
On May 15, the Detective Branch (DB) of police picked up Bulu from in front of the party’s Nayapaltan headquarter.
