Ruling Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraf on Wednesday claimed that the life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is under threat.
“Panic has gripped the country again. Conspiracy is everywhere. Plots are being hatched against the Awami League and its chief Sheikh Hasina. Life of Sheikh Hasina is under threat,”Ashraf said while addressing the extended meeting of the party at prime minister’s official residence Ganabhaban in the capital.
Stressing the need of unity in the party, Ashraf, also the LGRD minister, urged the party leaders and activists across the country to be united and forget pains and differences in opinion.
He directed the leaders to complete the council sessions at all tiers to ensure democratic practice.
Mentioning that the party’s district level units were without women in top leadership positions, he called upon the leaders to pave the way encouraging women to come forward in order to serve at the top positions in the district levels.
