The Baam Gonotantrik Morcha (Left Democratic Alliance) has rejected the BNP’s support for the platform’s half-day hartal called for March 28 in protest against the exorbitant prices of essentials.
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Shah Alam on Sunday said that the alliance had not sought the BNP’s support for its program, and advised the party to observe its own program.
He said that: “BNP should do its own politics. If they have enough strength, they should be able to carry out a program themselves.”
Shah Alam, also the coordinator of the alliance, made the remarks during a views exchange meeting in Chittagong.
The Baam Gonotantrik Morcha declared the shutdown on Friday. They urged people from all walks of life to join the movement.
