Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Sunday said the BNP was born through killing people and its founder, Ziaur Rahman, killed hundreds of armed forces officers and soldiers to cling to power.
“The family members of air force who were killed by Zia held a meeting demanding a posthumous trial of Zia. BNP founder Ziaur Rahman killed hundreds of armed forces officials and soldiers to prolong his stay in power,” he said.
The minister stated this while addressing a discussion and food items distribution function organized by Association of Human Development Program marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Jurain Rail Gate in the capital.
Hasan said BNP leaders including Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy talk in a lofty manner, but the BNP is a party of killers.

The Awami League is a party of poor and hard-working people and its President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the leader of common people, he added.
