United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon on Monday called on all parties in Bangladesh to end the ongoing violence and express their concerns peacefully, according to the UN website.
In a statement released on Monday, Ban expressed his concern regarding the violence that erupted in Bangladesh, saying that he has been “following the recent wave of violence in Bangladesh with increasing concern and is saddened by the loss of life, including during the events that unfolded in Dhaka throughout Sunday and into Monday.”
The statement further said Ban encouraged political and religious leaders to “engage in constructive dialogue and help defuse the tensions.”
