Mozammel: BNP doing politics of falsehood over Zia’s grave

The minister urges the BNP for conducting a DNA test to prove that the body of Zia has been buried there

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Wednesday said BNP is doing politics of falsehood over Ziaur Rahman’s body. 

“Individually, I do not have any dispute with Zia, but we do not want distortion of history... Zia's body is not in the Chandrima Udyan, but BNP pays respects there, and such distortion of history should not be allowed,” he said.

The minister said this while he was speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling ceremony of the book "Operation Jackpot", a heroic epic of naval commandos in the great Liberation War, at the conference hall of the ministry, said a press release.

He urged the BNP for conducting a DNA test to prove that the body of Zia has been buried there.

He said that he had repeatedly spoken in the Parliament to remove all the structures, including Zia’s so-called grave, which were not in the original design from the vicinity of the parliament building.

Later he again called for removing these installations from the Parliament building area and bringing the Parliament building back to its original design within a short time.

Liberation War Affairs Secretary Khwaja Mia, author of the book 'Operation Jackpot' M Shahjahan Kabir Bir Pratik and some naval commando heroic freedom fighters were present at the event.
