The Election Commission (EC) is likely to announce the schedule for five city corporation elections any day now.
Speaking at a programme in the capital on Sunday, Commissioner Mohammad Shahnewazsaid the schedules might be announced in the first week of May and the polls might be held in June.
He was referring to five city corporations - Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal and the newly formed Gazipur.
The EC held elections last year for the country’s three newly formed city corporations - Comilla, Narayanganj and Rangpur.
