BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the physical condition of their party chief is still not stable as her lungs and kidneys are at risk despite getting rid of Covid-19 infection.
“It is not that our chairperson has recovered completely; she is still in a vulnerable state. Her lungs and kidneys are not infected, but are at risk,” he told reporters in Dhaka on Friday, reports Bangla Tribune.

“Madam [Khaleda] was shifted to a special cabin because she was at a higher risk of contracting coronavirus again while staying at the CCU [of Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital] for a long time.”
The 76-year-old BNP chairperson is being given treatment for post-Covid complications with CCU facilities in the cabin.
She was admitted to the hospital on April 27 before being moved to the CCU with shortness of breath on May 3.

She tested negative for Covid-19 on May 8, some 27 days after she had been infected with the deadly virus.
Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the government freed Khaleda from jail for six months on March 25 last year through an executive order suspending her sentences in corruption cases.
