Moudud: Where is my 1,000-year old bowl?

Update : 25 Jun 2017, 06:58 PM
BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed claims to have lost a decorative bowl that is at least a 1,000 years old, from his Gulshan's house during the eviction on June 7. “I have not found at least 44 items, including a thousand-year-old bowl, that was in the Gulshan house. Those things do not belong to the state,” he said at a press briefing in Dhaka on Sunday. He also claimed he could not find books from his personal library that had been in his possession for 50 to 60 years.

The senior BNP leader said: “I do not understand why Rajuk is demolishing the house when the court is still hearing two cases filed over the property. “Rajuk has disrespected the court by demolishing the house,” Moudud added. When contacted, Barrister Moudud told Dhaka Tribune: “My client, Lebanese billionaire Hany M Salaam, gave me the 1000-year old Lebanese bowl a few years back. I liked the bowl a lot because of its historical significance.” “Not only the bowl, I also cannot find several other gifts that was given to me by foreigners, diplomats, princes and clients. “Many other small gifts, from former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Germany's President, France, Italy and many others countries’ presidents and prime ministers, also went missing during the eviction,” he lamented. Earlier in the morning, Rajuk and police officials went to the house and started to demolish it.
