Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has selected Azizus Samad Dawn and Syed Abdul Awal Shamim as new members of the party’s central working committee (CWC).
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the announcement while speaking to newsmen at the Secretariat on Monday morning.
Azizus Samad Dawn is the son of veteran Awami League Leader Abdus Samad Azad.
Syed Abdul Awal Shamim, a former leader of Dhaka College Chattra League, also served as a key official at the Awami League president’s office.
Dawn and Shamim were both members of Awami League’s central sub-committee.
Responding to a question of reporters, Quader said: “We are investigating whether there is any provocation of BNP in the anti-sculpture movement.”
The minister also mentioned that the last span of Padma Bridge will be placed by December 10 this year.
