Jubo League announces full central committee

The ruling party youth wing has been struggling to form a full central committee for the past year

Bangladesh Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, has announced their full central committee.

The committee consists of 201 members and it was announced on Saturday evening.

Sayem Khan, deputy office secretary of Awami League, told Dhaka Tribune that Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Nikhil submitted their proposed committee to Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday afternoon.

Soon after, Quader approved the list and told them to publish it, said Sayem.

According to the list, maximum leaders from the previous committee have been dropped and a good number of former Chhatra League leaders have been inducted some important posts of the new central committee and the national committee.

Except President Parash and General Secretary Nikhil the new committee includes Presidium members Mamunur Rashid, Monjur Alam Shahin, Abu Ahmed Nasim Pavel, Sheikh Sohel Uddin, Dr Khaled Shawkat Ali, Sheikh Fazle Fahim, Publicity Secretary Joydeb Nandi who was an acting president of Chhatra League, Organizing Secretary Saifur Rahman Shohag, who was also a president of Chhatra League to name a few.

Biswas Matiur Rahman Badsha, Subrata Paul, Md Badiul Alam, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nayeem and Md Rafiqul Alam Joarder have been made joint general secretaries.

A few Awami League leaders were also put on the central committee including Presidium Member Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon, who is a member of parliament from Faridpur 4 constituency and Law Secretary Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman, who is a former prosecutor of the War Crimes Tribunal and a promintnet Awami League leader.
