The ruling Awami League will sell nominations forms to select the party’s candidates for the upcoming by-polls to five parliamentary seats in Dhaka, Naogon, Sirajganj and Pabna from Monday.
In a media release on Sunday, its Office Secretary Biplab Barua said aspirants will be able to collect form for the party chief’s Dhanmondi offices until August 23.
“Only one or two people will be allowed to enter the office premises for collecting forms to ensure health safety guidelines amid the pandemic,” it said.
Five parliamentary seats have been declared vacant following the deaths of Mohammad Nasim of Sirajganj 1, Sahara Khatun of Dhaka 18, Habibur Rahman Mollah of Dhaka 5, Israfil Alam of Naogaon 6 and Shamsur Rahman Sherif of Pabna 4.
The Awami League Parliamentary Board headed by party President Sheikh Hasian will review aspirants and nominate the candidates, Awami League leaders say.
