Joynal Abedin Hazari, Feni district Awami League unit's general secretary, has been appointed as a member of the ruling party's advisory council.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the appointment on Wednesday.
Joynal Abedin Hazari, also known as just Joynal Hazari, is well-known for his control of politics in Feni for over two decades, from 1984-2004.
He became involved in politics when he was a student at Feni College, towards the end of the sixties.
Since 1984, Joynal served as Awami League Feni unit's general secretary; he was suspended from the party in 2004. Since then, he has been inactive in politics.
Recently, the prime minister donated Tk4,000,000 to Joynal for his treatment.
When the Feni leader met the party chief at Ganabhaban on Wednesday, to receive the donation, the prime minister talked to him about politics, inquired after his health, and prayed for his recovery, before making the announcement.
