Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said BNP is doing politics with the dengue outburst rather than extending their help to prevent it.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks while participating in a cleanliness campaign in Dhaka's Farmgate area around 11:30am on Saturday.
"They (BNP) are neither doing anything to prevent dengue menace nor standing beside the flood victims. They have not participated in any cleanliness campaigns but repeatedly called upon the government to declare state of emergency or dengue as an epidemic," he said.

Terming BNP as a failed political party, Quader said the party is in a state of crisis and a state of emergency should be declared to rescue it.
The Awami League leader also urged everyone to travel with caution and be aware of dengue during the Eid holiday travels.
Monitoring cell to prevent dengue
Quader also said, as per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a monitoring cell will be formed, comprising Awami League leaders and expert physicians, to ensure that the best healthcare services are provided to dengue patients in the capital as well as district and upazila-levels.
