The minister said BNP leaders are making themselves ridiculous by making such statements at a few days’ interval

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has said BNP is doing ill-politics over the health of its Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

“BNP is continuously doing ill-politics over the health, and treatment of Khaleda Zia. Actually, the government is taking an all-out effort to ensure the best medical treatment for her,” he said.

The minister said this while replying to a question at a ceremony to award fellowship certificate to journalists on menstrual health management at CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday.

Hasan said Khaleda Zia is being treated at the country’s highest medical educational institution, the BSMMU. Now BNP leaders are saying Khaleda’s health condition is very bad though she suffered from a toothache only, he added.

The minister said BNP leaders are making themselves ridiculous by making such statements at a few days’ interval.

Hasan said the way BNP is presenting Khaleda Zia before the people is not fair. It is BNP’s political bankruptcy, he added.

Replying to another question, the minister said, many people are being infected by dengue but it has not turned into an epidemic yet.

He said the government is taking maximum efforts to control the dengue outburst. Dengue is not only spreading in Bangladesh but also in other countries in Asia.
