BNP has announced that it will join the 11th parliament.
The party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told the press at a briefing on Monday evening at BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan that the party will join Jatiya Sangshad.
He said the four BNP MPs who had taken oath earlier in the day had done so at the behest of party acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
"BNP does not want to ignore even the slightest opportunity to salvage the nation from the current political crisis," Fakhrul said.
He said the party will raise its demands - including the release of its jailed Chairperson Khaleda Zia and fresh elections - at the parliament.
