Gono Forum's second MP-elect, Mokabbir Khan from the Sylhet 2 constituency said his decision to join the parliament was motivated by his political responsibilities.
He came up the remark as a response to Gono Forum’s criticisms, while speaking at a program organized by the Tajpur Union Parishad, in Sylhet on Wednesday.
“My actions are not motivated by greed and I will put in tireless efforts to develop the Bishwanath and Osmaninagar upazilas, in order to fulfil my promises made to the people,” he said at the program.
On April 2, the Gono Forum MP took his oath as a member of the 11th parliament, violating the party decision. This was the first visit to his constituency after the swearing in ceremony.
