Road, Transport, and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said people rejected BNP for its negative politics.
At a rally in Hatiya, he said: "There are no new thoughts about BNP as the people have rejected it for their negative politics and cast their votes to make Sheikh Hasina victorious."
The minister said the government will take initiatives to resolve the problems of Hatiya residents of Hatiya, including steps to check river erosion, setting up electricity lines and road renovation, reports UNB.
He said: "Steps will be taken to construct blocks to check for river erosion in the upazila by March 15."
The Awami League general secretary also urged party leaders and activists to behave well with people and win their hearts.
Later, the minister visited the eroded areas in Nalchira Ghat and distributed clothes among the destitute.
