Moushumi collects Awami League nomination form for reserved seat

The ruling Awami League started selling nomination forms among aspirants for the reserved seats for women from Tuesday morning

Renowned actress Arifa Parvin Moushumi has collected a nomination form for a reserved seat in the 11th parliament from the ruling Awami League.

Moushumi collected the form from the party president’s political office at Dhanmondi around noon on Wednesday.

Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, president of Bangladesh Film Directors Association, was present when Moushumi got her form.

The ruling Awami League started selling nomination forms among aspirants for the reserved seats for women from Tuesday morning.

Contenders of the reserved seats in the 11th parliament were seen waiting outside the party's Dhanmondi office from early morning.

The aspirants can purchase nomination forms after depositing Tk30,000 each. The sale of forms will continue until Friday.

The Election Commission will announce the election schedule forthe 50 reservedseats for women in the 11th parliament on Thursday.

To meet the requirements of proportional representation in parliament, the Awami League will get 43 reserved seats for women,Jatiya Party will get four seats and BNP will have one, while other parties and the coalition of independent MPs will get the remaining two seats.

A gazette notification about the MPs elected to the 300 seats of the 11th parliament was published on January 1.
