The newly formed Jatiya Oikya Front is set to hold a rally in Sylhet city, to mobilise public support in favour of its 7-point demands for holding a credible election, on October 23.
Oikya front leader and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rob announced the program after the first meeting of the opposition alliance, at his Uttara residence on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Before holding the rally in Sylhet on October 23, the alliance will offer prayers at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (pbuh) and Shah Paran (pbuh), he said.
They will also gradually hold public rallies in all other divisional cities, including Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur, Rob added.
On October13, BNP together with the Dr Kamal-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, JSD, and Nagarik Oikya launched the Jatiya Oikya Front.
