BNP has announced it will hold a public rally in Dhaka on Thursday to bolster its demands to release its party Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvy announced the rally at a press conference held at BNP's Naya Paltan Central office on Monday.

The party also demanded that the next general election be held under a non-party, neutral, administration.

Rizvi said they have already sought the permission of the authorities concerned to hold their rally either at Suhrawardy Udyan or in front of their Naya Paltan office.

"We have already completed the necessary procedure to hold our rally, we hope we will be able to hold a successful rally on Thursday," he said.

Earlier on September 1, BNP held a public rally in front of its Naya Paltan central office to mark the party's founding anniversary.
