Awami League is going to arrange a mass reception program for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on July 21, for her contributions to the development and achievements of Bangladesh.
The decision was made in a meeting between Awami League central committee, and leaders from affiliated organizations, lawmakers of Dhaka, and adjacent districts on Sunday.
"The prime minister has played an extraordinary role in the development and achievements of Bangladesh. Awami League will arrange a mass reception program for her at Suhrawardy Udyan," Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said while talking to the media at the party's newly inaugurated office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Gulistan.
He said due to the prime minister’s role, Bangladesh’s development works are going on in full swing.
“Prime Minister was awarded International Leadership Award in Sydney and D lit from India’s Kazi Nazrul Islam University. Bangladesh also became a developing country from least developed country under her leadership,” he said.
Quader claimed that Awami League will arrange the biggest rally in recent history on that day.
Among others, Awami League Presidium member Abdur Razzaque, Sajeda Chowdhury, Abdul Matin Khasru, presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka city, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Gazipur and Munshiganj units, along with leaders of affiliated organization were present at the meeting.
