Body of a newborn found in shallow pool in Kushtia

A body of a newborn has been found in Khoksa Upazila, Kushtia, on Wednesday. The body was found in a shallow pool beside the Kushtia-Rajbari highway. Union Parishad member Nasir and local people said the body was found by children who were playing in Moragacha village in the morning. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy. Sub Inspector of Khoksa police station, Sirajul Islam, said: “The body of the newborn was floating in Golai Mollah’s pond in Moragacha village. It was a boy and believed to have been born 2-3 days ago. The body was rotten when found.” “it will be a case of unnatural death as there is no plaintiff. After the autopsy is done, another case will be filed,” he said.
