PM: BNP's return to power means country’s destruction

Seeking votes for her party, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said BNP's return to power means destruction of the country. "BNP's return to power means destroying the country, burning people to death, indulging in corruption, plundering and terrorism, and creating militancy," she said while addressing a rally in Thakurgaon town. The Thakurgaon district unit of Awami League had organized the rally on the Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School ground. Mentioning that the next general election will be held in December this year, Hasina said: "If you vote for boat [the ruling Awami League’s electoral symbol], we will present you a Sonar Bangla with continued development. "The symbol of boat means your development and peace. It will offer you an improved lifestyle." Slating BNP leaders, Awami League chief Hasina alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's two sons looted Tk980.20 crore from banks, but did not pay back a single penny. Earlier, the premier inaugurated a total of 33 development projects and laid the foundation plaques of 33 other projects.
