Saki: We do not want a repeat of the last general election at DNCC polls

Zonayed Saki, nominee for left-wing and progressive parties in the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral by-election, has said that people do not want a repeat of the experience at the last parliamentary polls. "In last election, people were not able to vote. We hope that the Election Commission will provide equal opportunity for all groups,” he said. He made the remarks while talking to reporters after collecting nomination papers from the returning officer's office on Tuesday afternoon. The main coordinator of the Ganasanghati Andolon (People's Solidarity Movement) also said that this mayoral election will provide alternative choices to the two dominant political parties for the people.
