Next parliamentary polls in due time, says home minister

Update : 09 Dec 2017, 07:25 PM
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has reiterated the government's firm commitment to hold the next general election at the stipulated time. “The next parliamentary polls will be held in due time, as per the Constitution,” he said while addressing a rally at Moddho Bazar of Lalmohon upazila in Bhola on Saturday. “The Election Commission would administer the election on their own way, without reckoning which government is going to take office or bid farewell,” the minister added. The rally was jointly organised by Lalmohon upazila and municipality units of Awami League. Asaduzzaman urged the people to cast their ballots for Awami League's “boat” election symbol, saying “The only alternative to Sheikh Hasina is, Sheikh Hasina herself. “Bangladesh will become a developed country. We have reduced the poverty level to 22% and will further bring it down to 12% by 2021.”
