Ruling Awami League has expressed deep shock over the death of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq.
“We are deeply shocked over his death. We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and convey sympathy to his bereaved family members,” said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, after a secretary level meeting with the top brass of its associate organisations on Friday.

The meeting was held at Awami League president’s office at Dhanmondi of Dhaka.
Annisul Huq passed away in a London hospital at the age of 65. He died in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Wellington Hospital around 10:23pm Bangladesh time on Thursday, said a DNCC press release.
