Quader: Hasina’s popularity driving her enemies desperate

Update : 06 Jan 2017, 09:26 PM
Referring to the Narayanganj City Corporation polls, he said, “The opposing forces have realised that defeating Sheikh Hasina in the elections is impossible. Why did they kill Bangabandhu? He was killed as his enemies realised that he could not be defeated through voting.” Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, termed the glitch in the VVIP Biman flight 20th attempt on the premier's life. He said as Hasina’s popularity was increasing, so were her enemies. “A vested quarter wanted to remove Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as they did to Bangabandhu,” he said addressing a view exchange on the Homecoming of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Dhanmondi party office Friday morning. Quader said: “Today as Sheikh Hasina’s popularity is on the rise due to her visionary leadership, her enemies are increasing and so the threats on her life.” At the view exchange, the minister also asked all party leaders and activists to be prepared for the next general elections and turn the party into a disciplined force and free of all factional feuds.
