“It has been proven through the Narayanganj City Corporation polls that Awami League cannot be defeated in elections, so they [BNP] are left with ‘conspiracy’ as their only tool in hand,” said Quader addressing a view exchange on the Homecoming of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi party office Friday morning.
Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said: “The opposing forces have realised that defeating Sheikh Hasina in the polls is impossible.”
Urging party workers and activists to be prepared for the next general elections, he said, “The party needs to be turned into a disciplined force and free of factional feuds.”
He said Awami League would first try to bring its derailed party activists to the right path and if they refused to come back they would have to leave the party.
“There is no alternative,” said Quader, adding that Sheikh Hasina’s achievements in the development of the country would not be allowed to be marred by anyone’s misdeeds.
