Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered to make every facility available to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia during her visit to Cox’s Bazar.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the statement at a press conference held at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday.
The minister said: “The prime minister has clearly mentioned that Khaleda Zia is the former prime minister of Bangladesh and she can stay at the circuit house and use the VIP room.
“She [prime minister] asked us to make sure there is no lacking in her hospitality.”
He further said: “The BNP chairperson requested to use the circuit houses in different districts during her journey to Cox’s Bazar and the deputy commissioners of Feni, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar had called me to ask about it.
“The prime minister gave the order when I talked to her about the request.”
The minister added that the deputy commissioners were also ordered to use the Road and Highway Division rest house if the circuit house is unable to accommodate everyone.
However, the minister said earlier Hasina was not allowed to use the same VIP room of Chittagong Circuit House but Khaleda Zia has been granted permission to use it now. This article was first published on Bangla Tribune
