In a condolence statement, the prime minister said: “Whenever Bangladesh is advancing towards development, a section of people are creating an anarchic situation for their own interest.
“These people have chosen the wrong path of killing and terrorism which will never be tolerated at any circumstance.”
According to the prime minister, Liton was killed in the face of politics.
Prime minister also said: “A bullet was also shot targeting ZA Mahmud, who is the publicity and publication secretary of Khulna City Awami League as well as Khulna City Swecchasebak League general secretary.
“As the bullet missed the target, a pedestrian was killed instead,” she added
The premier asked the authorities concerned to take legal action against the killers of Liton. She also urged the locals to have patience, regarding the matter.
Prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Liton was gunned down in his home by unidentified assailants on Saturday night.
