Police in Brahmanbaria have identified 35 polling stations out of 48 as risky, and have taken special security measures for those.
Md Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of police in Brahmanbaria, said six police officials would be deployed at each of the 35 risky polling stations, and five at the remaining 13 stations each.
“Each polling station will have 12 Ansar members, and two of them will be equipped with firearms. Also, there will be eight armed guards at the risky centres each, and seven at each of the remaining centres,” he said.
Brahmanbaria municipality polls will be held tomorrow.
Mizanur said four striking police forces, two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh members and 10 RAB teams will be on duty during the polls.
