At least 17 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) including a general secretary of Sylhet district BCL, were sued by one of their fellow activists in connection with a clash that broke out at in Sylhet MC college on Monday.
Rubel, himself a BCL leader, filed the case with the Shah Paran police station, said Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of the station.
According to sources, at least 10 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student organisation of ruling Awami League, were injured in a factional clash over establishing dominance at Sylhet MC College.
Serious injured Roton Gupto and Khairul Islam Shahin was admitted to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while the rest were given treatment at different private clinics and dispensaries, the organisation sources said.
Campus sources said a supporter of the BCL Sylhet District Former President Hiron Mahmud Nipu had an altercation with Present General Secretary Rayhan Chawdhury on the campus.
Later, activists of both groups, armed with iron rods and hockey sticks, were locked in a clash, leaving at least 10 activists injured.
