The BNP yesterday announced the schedule for election to its two top positions – chairperson and senior vice-chairperson.
The election will be held on March 19 as the BNP set the date to hold its national council in Dhaka.
Addressing a press briefing at party’s Nayapaltan headquarters yesterday, party standing committee member Jamir Uddin Sircar told journalists that the nomination papers for the positions would be distributed from March 2.
“The nomination papers will be available at the party headquarters,” he said adding that nomination paper would have to be submitted by March 4.
The Election Commission will scrutinise the nomination papers on March 5 and the last date of nomination papers withdrawal is March 6.
He also said party standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan was made the returning officer.
Jamir Uddin Sircar said a candidate himself can collect the nomination or they can send their nominee to collect it.
