The ruling Awami League has declared its 672 chairman candidates to vie for the second phase union parishad polls slated to be held on March 31.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif made the declaration of his party candidates at a press conference in Dhanmondi office on Sunday afternoon.
The Election Commission on February 19 included 684 union parishads to the second phase polls, but it later postponed 12 of them.
The 12 UPs are Ghaghra of Kotalipara in Gopalganj, Bachore, Hossaingaon and Nanduar of Ranisankail in Thakurgaon, Begumpur, Shankarchandra and Titudah of Chuadanga Sadar, Khokshabari and Tupamari of Nilphamari Sadar, Aminabad and Nurabad of Char Fashion in Bhola and Kuchiamora of Magura Sadar.
Earlier, AL published lists of 739 candidates for first phase of the UP pills going to be held on March 22.
