Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddique yesterday filed a leave-to-appeal petition with Supreme Court against a High Court order rejecting his pleas for participating in the Tangail 4 by-election.
On February 4, the HC rejected a petition filed by Kader challenging legality of the Election Commission’s decision cancelling his candidature in the Tangail 4 by-election.
On September 16, 2015 the EC issued a notification for fixing November 10 for the by-polls to Tangail 4 that fell vacant after the resignation of AL lawmaker Abdul Latif Siddique, and asked aspirants to submit nomination papers within October 11.
